Airclan Camp

"I guess your right. I mean, Islandpaw likes me, and he'll be a Warrior soon enough, by the next moon, i'm sure." Lynxlily tried to sound hopeful, but with everything that had happened that day, the death of her brother, the birth of five kits, their mother's death, Rushingstripe dissing her; Lynxlily couldn't shake the feeling that it was all her fault.

I nodded, "Well, I'm gonna go back to my camp." I mewed and padded off.

Lynxlily sighed but her head shot up at the sound of a cat's shreik. She dashed into her camp to find several badgers attacking. Foxtail, please come help! she sent a prayer to Starclan and jumped on the nearest badger, ripping it's neck flesh off.

I pricked my ears and tasted the air...badgers?...In Airclan! "No!" I growled and ran into their camp, attacking the nearest badger.

Lynxlily threw the badger off her back as the smell of fresh blood entered her mouth. She spun around and dashed in at the badger, clawing it's legs and biting them. She spotted Foxtail and threw the badger near her. Then a side sent her staggering sideways, she looked up to see the biggest badger, he was about to attack. She tried to yowl but the badger was already thrashing into her underbelly. Then the heavy weight was lifted off as Rushingstripe hauled the badger off. He leaped on it and clawed across it's face.

I kept attacking the badgers and nodded a thanks to Rushingstripe. I ran to Lynxlily's side and mewed, "Are you ok?"

Lynxlily's stomach was torn open and she was breathing heavily. "Yes i'm fine!" She snapped, getting up to attack the badger who had hit her, but he lay on the ground, his head torn open and several bite marks along his body. Rushingstripe sit at the badgers side and smirked. He killed it!

"Whatever." I hissed and ran back to my camp.

Only one badger remained, a younger one. Lynxlily snarled and took a step towards it, but the badger turned tail and fled. There was a wail that erupted from the other side of the clearing. Are more coming? I don't think i can lift another paw!! But what Lynxpaw saw shocked her even more. A brown body with a golden stripe lay on the ground, her neck torn open, and she was dead. GOLDENPELT![i

I kept walking and flicked my tail, Lynxlily only cares about Rushingstripe now... I growled inside my head and sat down.

Lynxlily breathed in deeply. Too much had happened today. "I-i need to take a walk." She said when gazes crossed her pelt. She ran to the WaterClan border, thinking of how rude she'd been to Foxtail. She sat pateintly and whenever a patrol passed she acted as if she was hunting.

It was just a regular day. Foxtail was still mad about what happened with Lynxlily. I was walking alongside Longscar, "Hey..." I mewed to him, "Yes?" Longscar meowed back, smiling...and staring at me. I stared back, "Why do you think I never got a mate?" I mewed. He looked stunned and then answered, "Well...I never got to go...so...maybe..." he then licked my ear and smiled.

Lynxlily hissed. Foxdung! She turned to leave but a opaw proded her in the side. "What?" She spun around to see Rushingstripe. His face was wet from crying and pain filled his amber eyes. "I-I i don't what to do anymore. I think i'm going to go visit the tribe." He spoke shakily. Lynxlily stared at him and pushed her muzzle into his chest fur. "I wish you wouldn't....But that is your choice, and i respect your disicion." Rushingstripe looked at her, alarm in his eyes. "But why?" He ventured. "Well, Rushingstripe, i can't believe you haven't noticed.....but, i kinda love you." Lynxlily felt every hair on her pelt prickle with embarrasment. Rushingstripe purred very loudly, "I love you too." He stared into her eyes for a moment but Lynxlily shrunk away. "But we still have to wait another moon before mating." He nodded his head. "And i still owe you sharing tongues." Lynxlily purred and rested her head on his back as they walked to camp.

Longscar linked tails with me and I layed my head on his shoulder, "Longscar..." I mewed once we got to the camp, "Mhm..." he meowed back. I sat down, "You go on. There's something I have to do." I licked his nose and walked toward the Airclan camp.

As soon as Lynxlily entered the camp Ninjakit flung himself at her. "Got you!" He mewed, pawing her face. "Oh get off me!" She lightly pushed him off and nudged him towards the nursery. She yawned and linked tails with Rushingstripe. Then she scented Foxtail and perked her ears. "I'll be back!" she called to Rushingstripe as she dashed out of the camp and came to a halt, standing face to face with the orange Warrior. She shuffled her paws and looked up. Then Sapphireflare appeared, her eyes glameing with hate. "I knew it!" Sapphireflare growled. "You are visting that flea-bitten WaterClan she-cat!" Sapphireflare looked at Foxtail up and down. "She smells, too" She growled. Thinking of a snapping reply, Lynxlily snarled, "And so that makes it you're buisness to talk? Be quiet, you stinking FireClan she-cat lover!" Sapphireflare flinched and ran back to camp.

I watched the cat run off, "What was that all about..." I mewed, confused.

"Nothing, it doesn't matter." I looked at Foxtail. "Why are you here? The Clan already suspects i have friends from another Clan."

"I wanted to say that...I have a mate now!" I purred proudly and then sat down, "It's Longscar. You remember him?"

Lynxlily bowed her head. "I as well. Rushingstripe." She purred loudly at the mention of his name. "Hunting?" She asked, her tail twitching with happiness.

I nodded, "Yea sure!" I swished my tail with excitment and padded into the bramble, waiting for Lynxlily.

I pelted towards her and skidded to a halt. "I know you mainly catch fish," she began, "But look, this is how you stalk forest prey." She dropped into a croutch and wriggled her hind courtners and pawed quickly after a imaginary mouse. "Go on, try it. I've got limited time here, i have to train my apprentice soon."

When I heard she had an apprentice, I mewed, "You have an apprentice now?!" I totally forgot about the stalking she just showed me.

Lynxlily purred. "Yes, her name is Specklepaw. Now, crouch, woman!" She laughed loudly.

I looked downwards, "I haven't gotten an apprentice yet..." I mumbled, my mind floating off somewhere else, rather than the hunting. Then I snapped out of it when I caught the scent of another cat.

Lynxlily lashed her tail. "How did your mentor deal with you?" I purred then stop as i heard a clanmate. "It's fine, it's only-" She cut herself short and stared in horror as Hawkheart leaped off the ledge above Lynxlily. Her brother landed with a thud then turned to stare at his sister. "Lynxliy!" he growled, glancing at Foxtail. "Who is she?" She stared at him, steady. "A friend."
